First Night in the Dorm

Uniforms showed up while we were gone. Their tidy folding satisfied my OCD tremendously! 

Books on the desk: Runic Lexicon is thick enough to kill a man. I opened it, read two lines, and immediately closed it because I knew I’d be up till 4 a.m. if I kept going.

My new casting ring is still warm. Like it’s happy to be here.

Tomorrow we start actual classes.

I’m terrified.

I’m so excited I could puke.

Both at the same time.

Goodnight, future legendary wizard me.

I’m Liam Russo.

A few weeks ago I was just another pre-med student who thought magic belonged in stories.

Then a professor found me, and everything I thought I knew turned out to be the smallest piece of a much larger world.

I never expected to be chosen for Dawnspire Academy.

I’m still not sure I deserve it, but I’m grateful, every single day, for the chance to learn what real healing can look like when it’s woven from both science and wonder.

These pages are my attempt to keep up with everything I’m seeing, feeling, and discovering.
